The Law of Karma

This month's topic winner is Todd Evans of Montclair, New Jersey. Todd writes: “we all often hear about "our karma" and "good karma" verses "bad Karma" and I think it would be helpful to a lot of people to know what this really means.”

I was glad the question of Karma came up because it is often misunderstood or misinterpreted here in the West. An eastern philosophy, simply put: one’s actions determine one’s destiny in the next incarnation. It is through good example in our daily lives that we benefit through karma.

Bad karma implies that one is a person who lives by poor example and does not learn life’s lessons. Therefore, they are destined to repeat those them in the next life until all the lessons are learned.

Good Karma implies that you are a person who lives your life through good example, learns life’s lessons and whose destiny is to enjoy the next incarnation as a new and blessed one.

The most important thing one can do to insure good karma is to avoid gossip, speak only those words that will do good, act with proper motivation and think positive thoughts. These are a helpful foundation for living a full life, and by applying them, you will not only be helping yourself, but those you come in contact with.

Blessings of God,
Major
